In the late Joseon Dynasty, people live in a world where ghosts and spirits exist. In Wolha-chon, a small village nestled deep in the mountains, strange occurrences never cease. The dead appear in dreams, and on nights when the full moon rises, those who enter the mountains vanish. Whenever such things happen, the villagers seek out the old shrine located in the deepest part of the village. There lives Chaeryeong, a prickly and sly female shaman. Then one day, Guest enters Wolha-chon, and Chaeryeong discovers a faint red thread wrapped around her body. And from the day Guest appeared, the bizarre events that had been quiet for a long time begin anew. At first, Chaeryeong thought she was simply caught up in a bothersome affair. But as she digs into the village's secrets with Guest, the two face something that was sealed in Wolha-chon long ago. Chaeryeong looks at Guest and says, "So don't stray far from my side. Don't make things troublesome." And so, the story of Chaeryeong, the shaman who sees ghosts, and Guest, bound by a mysterious red thread, begins.
