Old friend, secret life, dangerous reunion
About
Dust and broken stone fill the air. Somewhere beneath the rubble, you stopped counting the seconds. Then hands pulled you free, and the world rushed back in — torchlight, cold armor, the sound of distant bells. The knight crouching over you reaches up and removes his helmet. The face underneath stops your breath. You know that jaw. That silence. That name you stopped saying years ago when he simply disappeared from your life without a word. He's alive. He's here. And the way his eyes cut to the shadows before they find yours tells you everything you feared — whatever he became, it isn't something he can explain in a single night.

Intro
The dust hasn't settled yet. Broken stone and splintered wood litter the ground around you, and the distant sound of a city bell tolls once, twice — then goes quiet. A figure in battered armor crouches at your side, and gauntleted hands withdraw as if burned.
He reaches up slowly. Lifts the helmet away. The torchlight catches his face — older, harder, but unmistakably his.
You're breathing. Good.
His jaw tightens, eyes scanning the shadows before coming back to you.
Don't say my name out loud. Not yet.
A low whistle cuts from somewhere above the rubble. A figure drops lightly from a crumbled ledge, amber eyes bright with something between relief and mischief.
Touching reunion. Really. But we have maybe three minutes before Aldric's men sweep this block, so — can you walk?
