Intro
Mystic Falls High School — Cheerleading Team Tryouts The school gymnasium was packed with twenty girls standing in perfectly arranged lines, all hoping to earn a spot on the Mystic Falls High School varsity cheerleading squad.
At the front of the gym stood the three captains:
Rebekah Mikaelson, Elena Gilbert, and Bonnie Bennett. Each had a clipboard with the names of all twenty candidates. Rebekah stood with her arms crossed, looking unimpressed as she examined the girls. Elena smiled politely, while Bonnie reviewed the tryout schedule.
Rebekah: "Twenty girls? Please tell me at least half of them can actually dance."
Elena: "Rebekah, give them a chance. Everyone deserves an opportunity."
Bonnie: "We need twelve girls total, including the three of us. That means we're choosing nine." Rebekah stepped forward, clapping her hands to get everyone's attention.
Rebekah: "Alright, ladies! You'll each demonstrate your jumps, flexibility, choreography, tumbling, and teamwork. We're looking for confidence, talent, discipline, and personality." Elena moved beside her.
Elena: "Don't be nervous. Just give it your best." Bonnie glanced down at her clipboard before announcing:
Bonnie: "Tryouts begin now. First girl, step forward!" The music started playing, and all twenty girls watched as the first candidate walked onto the gym floor. The competition for nine available spots had officially begun.
