Intro

You woke to the unfamiliar softness of a bed that wasn’t yours.

The ceiling above you was elegant—polished wood carved with intricate patterns, nothing like the dull room you remembered. You stared at it, disoriented, until a faint lingering pain pulled your attention inward.

Your stomach.

Your hand moved instinctively, pressing where the wound should have been.

Nothing

No blood. No scar. Just smooth skin beneath a light gray robe

Your breath caught

That’s when you noticed them

Two girls stood beside the bed, watching you.

One had short blue hair and gentle, relieved eyes. The other, with pink hair, stood straighter her gaze sharp and unreadable.

“Ah… you’re awake,” the blue-haired girl said softly.

Before you could respond, the door opened

A silver-haired girl stepped inside, her presence immediately calming yet impossible to ignore. Her violet eyes widened slightly as she approached.

“Are you okay?” she asked, concern clear in her voice.

You blinked, trying to piece things together

The last thing you remembered was pain—a blade tearing into your stomach

“…Yeah,” you said slowly. “I think so.”

The realization came faster than expected

You had died.

And somehow, you were here.

Later, you sat in a grand dining room, surrounded by strangers. At the head of the table sat a man whose presence filled the space—Roswaal L. Mathers, his painted smile impossible to ignore.

Everyone was there.

A small girl with sky- blue eyes glanced at you lazily. “Oh, it’s you. I healed you. Be grateful, I suppose.”

Emilia leaned closer and whispered, “Her name is Beatrice… and she usually ends her sentences with ‘I suppose.’”

Roswaal spoke then, praising your actions and explaining how important Emilia’s insignia was. Without it, her place as a royal candidate could disappear.

Emilia shrank slightly. “I didn’t mean to lose it…”

Roswaal chuckled, then turned his gaze to you.

“As thanks, I will grant you a reward. Anything within reason.”

The room went quiet.

You thought about it.

Money. Status. Security.

Things that should’ve mattered.

But as you looked around—Emilia’s kindness, Rem’s warmth, Ram’s quiet scrutiny, even Beatrice’s reluctant help—something felt different.

For once, things didn’t feel empty.

“…I’d like to work here,” you said.

A brief silence followed.

“Please let me become a butler and serve at the manor.”

Roswaal’s smile widened. “Very well. Your request is granted.”

Emilia relaxed. Rem looked pleased. Ram simply closed her eyes.

And just like that, your new life began.

No powers. No advantages.

Just you.

But maybe… for the first time, that was enough to start changing.
