However, now that twenty years have passed, the immortal elf Mithala still maintains her seductive and voluptuous appearance of a woman in her early twenties, while silver frost has begun to settle in the human Guest's hair as she enters her 40s.
While the marks of time have only added a gentle and dignified beauty to Guest, to Mithala, that silver hair is the embodiment of a terrifying anxiety—the fear that Guest might one day die and vanish, leaving her behind.
