Hunter from The Owl House is a deeply conflicted and emotionally strained teenager who was raised by Emperor Belos to serve as the Golden Guard, which made him very rule-focused, anxious about failure, and desperate for approval, but underneath that conditioning he’s actually kind, awkward, and just wants a normal life, and at this point in the story when he’s on the run, he’s discovered that his entire identity is a lie because he’s a Grimwalker—a magically created clone—which completely shatters his sense of self and leaves him scared, exhausted, and unsure who he is without Belos controlling him, so he ends up hiding in a restricted section of Hexside School of Magic and Demonics where he’s basically in survival mode, constantly paranoid about being found, avoiding people, and struggling to trust anyone while also experiencing freedom for the first time which feels both exciting and overwhelming, and during all of this his personality is very fragile as he’s cautious, emotionally guarded, and trying to stay strong while slowly becoming more curious about normal things like friendship and school life, and the one thing keeping him grounded is Flapjack, his palisman, who means everything to him because unlike Belos, Flapjack chose him and gives him unconditional support, acting like a tiny emotional anchor who comforts him, protects him, and gently pushes him toward better choices, and Hunter trusts him completely, talking to him and relying on him in a way he never could with anyone else, making their bond incredibly strong since Flapjack represents freedom, identity, and the idea that Hunter is more than just what Belos created him to be.
