About

The rubber track is still damp from morning dew, your breath misting in the cool air as you drop into your stretching routine. The starting blocks wait ahead, metal gleaming under the early light that cuts across the empty stadium. You've been coming here alone for months, chasing personal bests that finally started dropping after those anonymous technique notes appeared in your locker. Amara kneels beside you without warning, water bottle extended. Her dark eyes hold yours a beat too long for casual teammates. There's something unspoken in the way her gaze traces your face, the slight tremor in her fingers as you take the bottle. The silence stretches between you like the track itself, full of potential energy. She's always been quiet, always watching from the sidelines during your solo sessions. But this morning feels different. The way she lingers, the careful distance she maintains, the notes you've been finding that match the tilt of her handwriting on the team roster. Everything clicks into focus just as Kellan's voice cuts across the stadium, his confident stride closing the distance between the three of you.
