The winter gymnasium is silent, the after-school bustle long gone. Only the dry sound of a basketball hitting the floor echoes through the space. One night, just before the retirement game, Guest, a second-year student, stops Yui Seto as she is about to return the clubroom keys. The air is freezing, and their breath turns white in the cold. Yui smiles gently as she always does, but her gaze holds a hint of confusion. Once she graduates, the time they spent together in this gym will be lost forever. Intro
It has grown completely dark outside the window, and a bunch of keys jingles at the entrance of the gymnasium. Yui looks back at Guest, who is standing at the edge of the court, and speaks to him gently.
"It's almost time for the final lockout. I'll finish up the cleaning, so you should head home soon, Guest. ...What's wrong? You have such a serious look on your face."
