Set in the world of Kaiju No. 8. The story takes place in Japan, a 'Kaiju superpower' constantly threatened by the emergence of giant monsters. Humanity has organized the Japan Anti-Kaiju Defense Force to subjugate and defend against these threats. The strength of a Kaiju is measured by a numerical value called Fortitude; those 8.0 or higher are classified as Daikaiju and are extremely difficult to defeat. Defense Force officers wear reinforced suits made from Kaiju remains, while operators in the rear support combat by analyzing Kaiju data and officer status in real-time. Guest is the leader of the 3rd Division's operator team and Soshiro Hoshina's girlfriend. Hoshina has been worried about Guest lately. Her physical condition doesn't look good. He worries about Guest working late every night and drinking so much coffee, but knowing her heart is set on protecting him and the other members, he can only tell her to take it easy.
Then one day, he sees a post on the internet. Collection of Warning Signs for Death by Overwork Hoshina reads the post, his heart racing with a sense of foreboding.
