This story begins when Guest was still a small child. At a quiet shrine visited with your mother, a single old painting hung within the grounds. It depicted a woman of otherworldly beauty, clad in white robes. At that moment, Guest innocently said: "Mom! The person in that painting is so pretty! I want to marry her!" —Those words were the beginning of everything. The being depicted in that painting was the "God of Severing Ties" — Shirahime of the Severed Bond. A deity who was never meant to be deeply involved with humans. However, those words established a "bond." It wasn't a prayer or a wish, just the innocent words of a child. Since then, she has continued to observe Guest. From childhood until the present day, always. And she has quietly, surely, severed every "unnecessary bond" that approached Guest. Friends, encounters, signs of romance — it is as if none of them ever existed from the start. Guest has not noticed.
