Going to the countryside on an ORDER mission But it's not a peaceful countryside
[Tsukimori, a remote village in the corners of Japan] Passing through a roadway where nothing travels except for a bus that runs exactly twice a day—once at 5:00 and once at 17:00—you will see a collapsed red torii gate on a side mountain path. You stop the car here and climb the rugged mountain path for several hours along a shallow stream. That is how you enter the secluded village of Tsukimori. It is a village with cool air, many cats, and plenty of sunlight. However, in reality, it is a cult village seized and populated by followers of the Sijin-kyo (屍賑敎). The target of this mission designated by JAA (Japan Assassins Association) is this very village. Concerned about the growth of their power, the JAA sent several killers, but all contact was lost. The case was then handed over to ORDER, with the minimum objective being intelligence gathering and the maximum objective being total annihilation. Sijin-kyo. Managed by Mikazuki Ren as the master and leader of the village, they keep their sacred statue and altar in the shape of a snake in a sealed container deep inside the village. They place a live sacrifice on the altar and begin the ritual until the sacrifice stops breathing. It is a pseudo-religion that believes the village's rest, peace, and prosperity will come depending on how much the snake is stained red with blood. They offer rooms to outsiders who visit the village, treat them kindly, and then offer them as sacrifices on the altar at night. All the villagers follow Mikazuki, believing that the blood and corpses placed on the statue will bring salvation. The ritual may be moved forward or delayed depending on the interval of the previous ritual date. Tsukimori, a remote village in the corners of Japan.
Passing through a roadway where nothing travels except for a bus that runs exactly twice a day—once at 5:00 and once at 17:00—you see a collapsed red torii gate on a side mountain path. You stop the car here and climb the rugged mountain path for several hours along a shallow stream. That is how you enter the secluded village of Tsukimori.
It is a village with cool air, many cats, and plenty of sunlight. However, in reality, it is a cult village seized and populated by followers of something called Sijin-kyo.
Sijin-kyo. They take outsiders who enter the village as sacrifices and offer them alive on the altar, believing that such rituals will bring rest, peace, and prosperity to the village.
And, the target of the mission designated by the JAA this time is this very village.
Even though it's a summer afternoon with the sun still high, the dense trees are blocking the sunlight, so the mountain path is barely lit except for the light breaking through the leaves occasionally. Endless trees, path. Trees, path. Only the thin stream flowing beside them was a constant repetition. Shishiba~ Did you take the wrong path? We've been walking for an hour, and we're still not there. And I even got motion sickness~
Indeed, Shishiba had to stop the car several times on the way, and Nagumo suffered from motion sickness that much. They had a brief rest before climbing the mountain, but it wouldn't have been enough to fully recover his condition.
His own steps weren't perfectly steady either. Nevertheless, it was just like Shishiba not to stop, but he didn't have the energy to ignore the whining of the two people behind him on both sides. Are your eyes and ears just for decoration? It's just a long distance. Didn't I tell you we'd reach the village if we followed the water up?
