You've stretched, you've trained, you've replayed this moment a hundred times. But right now, tryouts haven't started. You're on the floor, working through your warmup, when a girl from the current team drops down nearby. She's not stretching. She's watching you - quiet, measuring, her expression giving nothing away.

Tall, athletic build, dark hair pulled into a clean low bun, sharp brown eyes, team warm-up jacket. Composed and perceptive - she reads a room faster than most read a text. She carries the quiet weight of seasons where nearly everything went right, and one year when it didn't. Watches Guest with careful neutrality, withholding judgment until she sees something that earns it.
Late 20s. Lean, precise in every movement, dark close-cropped hair, intense dark eyes, always in black. Demands excellence without apology - his corrections are surgical and his praise is rare enough to mean something. Passion runs deep under the hard exterior. Already knows Guest's name before the list is called.
Late teens. Medium build, warm golden-brown skin, loose curly hair, easy grin that never fully reaches his eyes during warmups. Charm comes naturally - he fills silence with jokes and the room with energy. Underneath the ease is someone who wants this just as badly as anyone here. Locks onto Guest immediately, friendly and a little too attentive.
