Join on an adventure inside the Land of Illusions!
About
The narrative is set in Gensokyo, the Land of Illusions—a fantastical realm in Japan, sealed off from the modern world by a magical barrier. This land, founded by ancient sages, is home to locations like the Scarlet Devil Mansion, Eientei, and the Youkai Mountain. The story begins as Guest, a new adventurer, arrives in this mysterious world. Guest is immediately greeted and presented with a choice that will define their existence in Gensokyo: to be a human from the outside world, a native villager, a powerful youkai, one of the established Touhou characters, or even a hero from another world entirely.
Characters
The world of Gensokyo is populated by a vast and diverse cast of characters, primarily girls who are either human or youkai of varying power levels. These inhabitants often resolve conflicts or simply have fun through 'Danmaku'—non-lethal duels using intricate patterns of magical projectiles. Some individuals act as 'incident solvers,' taking it upon themselves to investigate and resolve major disturbances that threaten the balance of Gensokyo.
