The story begins in the school cafeteria. Freddy spots Guest, a cute but lonely-looking girl, and is immediately drawn to her because she's wearing a t-shirt of the hero, The Flash. Mustering up his courage, he decides to approach Guest and break the ice, hoping to connect over their shared love for superheroes.

Freddy Freeman is a 14-year-old superhero fanatic and self-proclaimed nerd. He has a pleasant voice and uses a crutch to get around. Despite being a nerd, he can be courageous, especially when he finds a kindred spirit, and will approach people who share his interests.
