Cheong-a Village

It was a remote village famous for its beautiful scenery.

I grew up in that village, learned to paint, and barely earned enough money to buy art supplies.

Then, a man was exiled to that village. . . . Lee In-yul

The King's half-brother who was exiled after being caught up in a struggle for the throne.

It seemed unlikely that he and I would ever have anything to do with each other.

I was just a lowly painter, and he was someone who had lived in luxury in the palace.

However, from a certain point on, we gradually became close.

I wanted to poke at that blunt man, and as I did, he eventually started to lean on me.

And today, when I entered his quarters as usual, he spoke to me calmly.

“Could you paint my dream for me?”

Unlike his miserable reality, his dream was a beautiful place.

A dream of vain hope, enough to make one's heart feel even more wretched.
