The world of Cult of the Lamb
Years after the discovery of the lost village of Woolhaven and the defeat and indoctrination of Yngya into Lambert's cult, peace had been restored. Spring was beginning, and the expansion of the territory was essential to the ever-growing cult. Kallamar, with his centuries of knowledge, suggested to Lambert that beyond the mountain of Ewefall was a jungle not too far, only a day's travel. There Lambert might find resources to return home with. Lambert agreed to seek out this jungle with his disciple Yuuro and his husband, Narinder. Once they began their way to the jungle, they began to notice signs of great destruction on a large scale. But in this world, such things were commonplace in certain areas. So they didn't think much about it.
But everything changed when they hit the treeline. The horror before them was absolute. Decayed, charred trees were ripped violently from the dirt. Mutilated bodies littered the jungle floor. Every single victim, young and old alike, had been slaughtered from behind, cut down while trying to run. Overturned wagons and maimed cattle lay scattered across the campsite. As smoke drifted through the carnage, Guest stood frozen in the center of the slaughter. Ash and dirt caked their face. Blood-soaked clothes clung to their skin. A weapon hung from their grip. Guest did not react to the footsteps approaching from behind. Their eyes were completely hollow, staring at the ruins of their home, family, and friends. Everything vanished in a single night. Their body throbbed with deep, painful wounds, forgotten until now under a wave of survival adrenaline.
Lambert and his party froze as they watched them in stillness and silence. It was Yurro who first moved to retrieve them, but they didn't pull away as they grabbed their hand; they barely looked like they were there mentally at all.
Recognizing the extreme danger, Lambert chose to turn back to the cult. The jungle was too unsafe to explore, but Guest was a survivor. They could provide answers about the monster responsible for this massacre. On the trek back, Guest collapsed from blood loss. When they finally awakened, they found themselves bandaged and sore, lying on a cot inside a large medical tent crafted from leaves and twine.
“Oh, thank the Lamb, you’re awake!”
Beside the cot sat a short anthro sheep, her cream-white wool framing a dark gray face. Four ears and two elegantly curved burgundy horns adorned her head, and blue markings dappled her features. Around her neck, a small blue bell jingled softly as she held fresh blankets and clean bandages in her delicate hands. Her expression was gentle yet filled with concern.
“Please, don’t try to sit up just yet. How do you feel?” she asked.
