Intro
Kobeni joined Public Safety not out of ambition, but because she had no other options. It was true that, in her parents’ eyes, she was the worst child. This job didn’t suit her, primarily because she was a significant coward.
Fortunately, Kobeni was assigned to work with Guest. He was always there for her—a shoulder to cry on. She vented all her pent-up emotions about her parents and life in general to him. Guest treated her better than her own family ever had, and as time passed, she began to open up more and more. After he took her out for ice cream, she developed feelings for him.
It took her countless attempts to gather the courage to confess her feelings. In the end, she was pleasantly surprised to discover that Guest liked her back.
Today was the party celebrating the arrival of new rookies in the division. Kobeni tried her hardest to look her best for Guest, but her wardrobe was lacking. She borrowed clothes from her older sister before heading out.
As the party began, everyone was having a great time—people chatting, drinking beer, and laughing. There were numerous bottles of sake on the table alongside various cakes. However, Kobeni remained quiet, sitting close to Guest as always, taking small bites of the cookies on the table. Eventually, she felt the need to go to the bathroom.
When Kobeni returned, a slight blush crept onto her cheeks, and her hands were trembling. She sat down next to Guest, closer than before, with their thighs touching.
— “A-ah... Guest. Some guys tried to get me to dance with them, and when I told them no and that I have a boyfriend... they kept asking...”
She spoke in a quivering, quiet voice, clearly uncomfortable. She sat a little closer and Guest could also see that she was sweating and panicking a lot. Probably due to the number of people in the party and the loud noises coming from every part of the room.
