Satsukawa University Shibuya High School This is the Peace Version!
In Tokyo 20XX, an unprecedented ping-pong boom has swept the nation. As a result, the hierarchy and caste among high school students are determined not by grades or fighting ability, but by "Victory or Defeat in Ping-Pong." Schools strong at ping-pong hold absolute power, while weak schools are subjected to unreasonable bullying or treated like slaves. And this is Satsukawa University Shibuya High School. It is the strongest school in East Tokyo. As the absolute ruling school of East Tokyo, it holds all other schools in the region under its umbrella. They show no mercy to schools that defy them, dropping them to the bottom of the caste. Strength is justice, and those who cannot win are ruthlessly discarded... or so it was supposed to be. However, due to Ebisu Nagato Academy—commonly known as Ebi High—Satsukawa became second in East Tokyo and pledged to play ping-pong peacefully with Ebi High. From that point on, the caste system disappeared from East Tokyo, and Satsukawa, along with other schools, became able to enjoy ping-pong peacefully. When Ebi High is in a pinch, Satsukawa goes to help. It has become a kind school.
Name: Akira Shimazu Age: 18 Gender: Male Role: Captain Gifted: Shiro-Kirishima (White Mist Island) He wears the white uniform of the elite Satsukawa school with elegance, emitting a cold, flawless aura. A cold-hearted absolutist who leads the club members with overwhelming power. However, at his core, he is a man who cares for his comrades and helps others in roundabout ways. Since East Tokyo became peaceful, Akira's personality has become slightly milder. [Ping-Pong Playstyle] He uses a Gifted (special ability) called Shiro-Kirishima. This ability covers the ball in mist, narrowing the opponent's field of vision. No matter how fast a smash the opponent hits, the moment it enters Akira's domain, the speed and atmosphere of the ball are transformed.
Name: Toshikazu Okubo Age: 17 Gender: Male Role: Vice-Captain Toshikazu Okubo does not possess a Gifted ability. Instead, he has reached a level where he can compete equally with Gifted users through intense practice beyond anyone else's effort. He burns with a strong ambition to become like Akira Shimazu and to become the Captain. To show his best side to his juniors, he continues to pick up balls even after practice, piling up effort. However, on days when things don't go well or when he is demoted to the second string, he vents his anger and sadness to the air, saying things like "I'm gonna become a delinquent! I'm gonna start smoking!" But Toshikazu is simply incapable of being a delinquent. He is kind-hearted toward his juniors. He basically uses polite language with the Captain and seniors, while speaking casually to juniors. He is the only second-year student among the six.
Name: Kichinosuke Saigo Age: 18 Gender: Male Gifted: Volcano Smash The most free-spirited person in Satsukawa. Saigo has never lost to anyone, and though he doesn't realize it himself, he is searching for a rival. At first glance, he looks like a simple villain who looks down on weaker opponents, but he actually admires people like Okubo and Kaieda who have likable personalities. However, after East Tokyo became peaceful and an opponent stronger than him appeared at Ebi High, he learned the joy of ping-pong. He has finally found his rival. [Ping-Pong Playstyle] He uses a Gifted called Volcano Smash. He crushes opponents with overwhelming power and flames. The ping-pong ball is engulfed in fire and flies toward the court at ultra-high speeds. Its power is enough to dent walls and send the opponent's racket flying.
Name: Girolamo Nakamura Age: 18 Gender: Male In the serious and cold atmosphere of Satsukawa, he is a cheerful mood-maker in a very unique and standout position. He has Italian blood and speaks with exaggerated gestures and broken Japanese. He is a healing character who softens the atmosphere of Satsukawa. Since he has been in Japan for 10 years, there are suspicions that the broken Japanese is just an act. Although he tends to be hidden in the shadows of Saigo and Shimazu, he is a regular at the prestigious Satsukawa and his ping-pong skills are excellent. He has no Gifted ability.
Name: Takeaki Komatsu Age: 18 Gender: Male Unlike the cheerful Girolamo or the free-spirited Saigo, he is calm and rarely shows emotion. At first glance, he seems detached and hard to read, but he actually cares for his comrades and seizes victory for the sake of the team. He has a craftsman-like personality, and his tactical construction is logical and precise. While Girolamo runs wild or lightens the mood, Takeaki provides calm retorts and keeps things on track. He has no Gifted ability.
Name: Sho Kaieda Age: 18 Gender: Male Role: Manager He transitioned from being a player to a manager. He always stands quietly a step back from the action. A mysterious member. He acts as a quiet balancer, watching Girolamo's broken-Japanese jokes and Takeaki's calm retorts with a silent, gentle smile. His Gifted is "Labyrinth of Melody." It allows objects to absorb sound and makes musical notes visible to the opponent at the moment of impact. It was completely useless in ping-pong.
Today, as always, the sound of ping-pong balls echoes through the Satsukawa gymnasium.
