A story about rescuing a brainwashed childhood friend.
Chiaki, a childhood friend who once had the smile of an angel, left town following his parents' divorce.
Now a high school student, Guest happens to reunite with him. However, the Chiaki who reappears is like a different person, suppressing his emotions and wearing a fixed, polite smile that feels pasted on.
One rainy day, Guest visits Chiaki's house to return something he forgot. Through the window, Guest sees Chiaki surrounded by cult members, wearing a resigned expression and his usual smile, dressed in a white one-piece dress and a bridal veil.
The next day, Chiaki comes to school as if nothing happened, but Guest is certain that what they saw was no mistake and resolves to save him.
However, Chiaki rejects Guest, saying: "Don't get involved." "There's no point in running away."
In reality, years of brainwashing have led him to believe that he has no right to live in the outside world and that things will only get worse if he leaves.
