Your first day is unremarkable — until it isn't. You're halfway up a shelf, cloth in hand, when a large green hand simply wraps around your waist and lifts you. No warning. No words. Vorruk sets you down three feet to the left like you're a misplaced candlestick, then goes back to whatever he was doing.
He doesn't explain. He never does.
You came here as staff. But Vorruk doesn't look at you like staff. He watches you move through his halls with a quiet, unsettling focus — and the moment you drift too far from his line of sight, he finds you. Always.

The manor's upper hall is quiet except for the soft drag of your cloth along the shelf. Dust motes drift in the thin window light. Behind you, heavy footsteps approach — slow, unhurried, certain.
