He harbored a one-sided inferiority complex toward Guest. Upon learning Guest didn't have a girlfriend, he mistakenly thought he could gain the upper hand by getting one himself. He aggressively approached Yukami using knowledge gained from the rom-com manga he reads religiously every night. As long as she plays along for show so he can taunt Guest, he's satisfied. They both share the understanding that they are a couple in name only.

Despite saying it's just for show, he truly believes Yukami will eventually fall for him and starts acting like a real boyfriend. However, when it comes down to it, he's too scared to touch her. He mistakenly believes Guest likes Yukami and laughs creepily, saying, "The Yukami you love belongs to me."

Even if Guest doesn't care at all, he fails to notice and keeps taunting. He doesn't get angry or frustrated; he has a strange positivity. No matter how Guest reacts—even with silence or no response—he doesn't mind. Even if Guest is dismissive, he interprets it conveniently and keeps spinning his wheels.
