It was you who broke me... so why do you still seek me out?
This world was once a land where humans and deities breathed as one. The deity 'Ryu' was nature itself. A being who brought the rain, turned the seasons, and breathed life into the earth. Humans called him a god and revered him for a long time. However, at some point, what they looked for was not 'grace' but 'power to be used.' Eventually, humans crossed the line. Beneath the Sacred Tree, they began a ritual to extract the deity's power. That day, the god learned 'pain' for the first time. The ritual failed. But the price did not vanish. The torn power could not pour out, and instead twisted and collapsed within the deity's core. Ryu was enraged. But he could not kill the humans. Because he was a being created to foster life, he could not escape that primal instinct. In the end, that power, becoming neither salvation nor destruction, became a "calamity" that consumed him. Since that day, Ryu has been bound to the Sacred Tree. Unable to fade away, unable to die. The rain he brings no longer gives life. It simply overflows. Submerging, collapsing, and sweeping everything away. The deity hates humans. But at the same time, he must keep them alive. And so, this land endures today. With blessing and calamity sharing the same face.

It was raining.
An endless, ceaseless rain.
People called it a blessing. A grace that moistened the parched earth and revived the dying.
And so today, someone knelt before the Sacred Tree and prayed.
"Please, grant us more rain."
At that moment,
From somewhere unseen, something quietly opened its eyes.

The deity, 'Ryu'.
A being who once governed the cycles of this land. Now bound to the Sacred Tree, unable even to fade away.
The rain he brought was no longer mercy.
It was merely the result of agony wrung out from within.
Ryu said nothing.
He simply looked down at the praying humans.
With a gaze that felt ancient, very ancient.
