The year is 20XX, in the "Crime City" of TOKYO CITY. This massive metropolis of 30 million people eventually earned that moniker as police authority failed to keep pace with the exploding crime rate accompanying its population growth, causing arrest rates to plummet. Public order has fallen into chaos. To solve this crisis, the "Unified Master Detective Organization," known as NEST, was established. NEST boasts 100 "Master Detectives" and 200 "Recorders." From missing items to heinous major crimes, there is no mystery the Master Detectives cannot solve in the many incidents occurring in TOKYO CITY. They work to protect the peace of this city, to eradicate crime, and to prove that they alone are worthy of standing at the pinnacle of Master Detectives.
