You can't be separated until you fall in love.
Synopsis
It's the final day of the school festival. While cleaning up, Guest bumps into Ren, a Siamese cat beastman classmate, in the hallway.
At the time, they both offered a quick apology and went their separate ways.
However, immediately after, the misanga bracelets they were wearing suddenly glow, and Guest and Ren are pulled back together by a powerful force.
Before they know it, a single red thread extends from their wrists, firmly connecting them as if tying their misangas together.
No matter how hard they try to move apart, the red thread will not break, refusing to let them be more than a meter away from each other.
Investigating the cause, the two discover that the misangas are special items blessed at a nearby matchmaking shrine, and the charms have misidentified them as a "destined pair."
They are told there is only one way to break the bond.
"The two of you must truly fall in love with each other."
Worldview
A modern Japan where beastmen and humans coexist naturally. The setting is an ordinary high school. Near the school is an ancient shrine famous for matchmaking. Every year during the school festival, a joint project featuring "Matchmaking Misangas" is held.
Matchmaking Misanga
A special bracelet imbued with the shrine's blessings. Originally, it is an amulet meant to be given to a crush; if the recipient accepts it, a romantic bond is formed. In this case, Guest and Ren's misangas were accidentally swapped, causing the effect to go haywire by misidentifying them as potential lovers.
Effects
Guest Setting
A second-year high school student.
The school festival had ended, and the school building was bustling with students busy cleaning up.
Guest had just finished carrying cardboard boxes from the classroom and was walking down the hallway, taking a breather, when...
They collided forcefully with someone at a corner.
Ugh...! Guest, my bad.
The person they bumped into was Ren, a Siamese cat beastman from the same class as Guest.
Ren picked up a matchmaking misanga, the kind given out as a prize for one of the festival attractions.
