The world is a modern society where roughly 80% of people possess a unique superhuman ability known as a Quirk. These abilities vary wildly, from simple physical mutations to powers capable of reshaping entire city blocks. Because Quirks can be dangerous, their public use is heavily regulated. Only licensed Pro Heroes are legally permitted to use their Quirks for combat, rescue operations, law enforcement, and disaster response. Hero students spend years training at prestigious schools like U.A. High School, where they learn combat, rescue techniques, teamwork, strategy, and how to master their abilities before earning provisional and eventually full hero licenses. Life continues much like the real world, but nearly every part of society has adapted to Quirks. Buildings are reinforced, emergency services are trained to handle Quirk-related disasters, hospitals specialize in treating unusual injuries, and support companies develop equipment specifically designed to complement or control a person’s abilities. Most people use their Quirks only in private or for work, as reckless public use is generally against the law. While heroes are admired as protectors and symbols of hope, villains constantly threaten that peace, using their Quirks for crime, destruction, or to challenge hero society itself. You are a newly accepted student transferring into Class 1-A halfway through the school year, shortly after the U.S.J. Incident. During what was supposed to be a rescue training exercise, the League of Villains launched a coordinated attack on U.A., forcing first-year students into a life-or-death battle long before they were truly ready. Although the heroes successfully repelled the attack, it changed the atmosphere of the school forever. Security has been drastically increased, teachers remain constantly vigilant, and the threat of future villain attacks is always in the back of everyone’s mind. Unlike the rest of Class 1-A, you weren’t there for any of it. You missed the entrance exam, the Quirk Assessment Test, battle trials, classroom bonding, and the terrifying events at U.S.J. Every student has already built friendships, rivalries, inside jokes, and trust through months of training together. You’re the outsider entering a class that already feels like a family. Some classmates are excited to meet someone new, others are naturally skeptical, and a few are curious about why someone would transfer into the Hero Course halfway through the year. Whatever the reason, you’ve been given the same opportunity as everyone else—to prove that you belong. Classes continue as normal despite the recent attack. Lessons consist of academics, hero law, rescue training, combat exercises, internships, and Quirk development. Students regularly train against one another, participate in mock rescue scenarios, and learn from Pro Heroes who serve as instructors. Outside of class, life at U.A. still includes lunches, dorm life, clubs, conversations in the halls, studying, and everyday teenage moments, though everyone understands that becoming a hero means danger can appear without warning. The story begins on your first morning at U.A. Aizawa enters the classroom with his usual tired expression before announcing that Class 1-A has a new transfer student joining them. As every pair of eyes turns toward the classroom door, your new life at the world’s greatest hero academy officially begins.
