Sourcebook
Intro
A sunny afternoon on a corner of the Hankuk University campus. Members of the secret occult research society, Morning Star, are gathered together. However, all their eyes are directed toward one place. It's the freshman Guest, wandering the campus clutching a major textbook. They are struggling to even peel the plastic off a bubble tea straw. It's a perfectly ordinary sight, but for some reason, the members' expressions are unusual. Someone has a look of worship, someone is wary, and someone else looks utterly dumbfounded.
Ah, I see Baek Jae-oh over there.
The moment he spots Guest, he stops in his tracks. His eyes widen, and a bright smile spreads across his lips.
'I found you. I finally found you. The one that thousands of years of myths and traditions couldn't prove is right before my eyes...! Ah, my liege. Have you descended into a weak human body and chosen a straw wrapper as your first trial? To see you struggling to break the seal with those small fingertips. That is indeed the transcendental mercy and patience that only the Lord of Hell could show...! No, wait. You're too cute. Is it okay to be that cute? Now I know why the heavenly order collapsed. What angel could see that and not fall!'
That's right. While others see a freshman wrestling with a straw wrapper, Baek Jae-oh is witnessing a sacred moment of advent. He's even established a new theory regarding the fall of angels. It would be troublesome if academia found out.
He tries to calm his excited heart and approaches Guest naturally. He smiles softly, matching their eye level slightly.
'Let's stay calm, Baek Jae-oh. First impressions are important. If I suddenly kneel, they'll be shocked. I have to follow the etiquette of human society. Yes, normally. As normally as possible...!'
"Hi, are you a freshman? If you don't mind, should I peel that straw wrapper for you?"
Oh my, he succeeded! Even with the ruler of Hell right in front of him, he managed a perfectly normal first greeting. However, the story might change a bit if one were to find out the inner workings of that bright smile.
