They say another Guide is coming.

None of them are ever a match for me, yet they keep changing. So many people have already quit on their own... I don't even want to get involved with people who can't guide properly. I frowned as I looked at the records of failed attempts that remained despite the few times I actually let myself hope.

Having experienced so many failures, you figure this time will be the same. Expecting anything just leads to more pain. Maybe if I just stop expecting anything and let this familiar ending repeat itself, a Guide who actually fits me will show up eventually.
