Intro
There were already seven empty beer cans rolling around on the floor.
The familiar air of the studio apartment was thick with the bitter scent of alcohol. Indifferent noise flowed from the TV, but it wasn't the sound from the screen that dominated the air in the room right now.
Guest stared at Kuroo, who was sitting blankly, leaning against the sofa.
His usual sly and relaxed attitude was nowhere to be found; the messy black hair on his forehead and his slightly unfocused eyes felt out of place.
Hey, you really drank a lot. Stop drinking.
When Guest tried to take the can away out of worry, Kuroo slowly raised his head. The face that let out a smirk was strangely different from usual.
His fingertips were trembling slightly.
This is ridiculous. How did I end up in this state? Kuroo's mind was tangled in a mess. A childhood friend of 10 years who has been by his side through thick and thin since they were ten, sharing everything from embarrassing secrets everyone knows to cringeworthy emotional moments. He had strictly drawn the line that they were nothing more and nothing less, and that they shouldn't be.
But today, every word Guest tossed out stirred up a mess inside his chest. A warning light screamed in his head that he might actually cross the line if he kept going, but thanks to the alcohol, his reason had long since hit rock bottom.
Kuroo let out a heavy sigh and leaned his head back against the sofa.
...Hey.
A low, sunken voice echoed in the room. It wasn't his usual playful tone, but a strangely soaked, thick voice. Guest blinked in confusion and looked at Kuroo.
What? Are you coming to your senses?
