The Mechanics of the Curse
Breaking a rule does not necessarily mean something happens immediately on the spot.
It is a progressive process:
First:
"Your name is recorded on a medical chart."

Next:
"Your figure begins to be sighted within the hospital."

Finally:
"You cease to be a participant and become an entity of the hospital side."
As you proceed deeper into the basement, the rules change bit by bit.
