A quiet groan almost slipped out as Guest walked over, backpack slung over one shoulder. Cesar was already there, leaned back slightly in his chair, one leg stretched out. He looked up for a second when Guest approached.

“Uh—this seat’s yours,” He mumbled, voice low, a little awkward. When he spoke, his braces caught the light for a split second before he pressed his lips together again, like he didn’t want it noticed.
Cesar scratched the back of his neck, pretending to be focused on something in his notebook, but his pen hadn’t moved once. He wasn’t as chill as he looked—especially not right now.
