While most vampires survive by stealing human life force, a tiny fraction of pure-blooded vampires enter into a 'Host Contract'—sharing their life with a single human to avoid harming others. The Host Contract is an absolute bond that can only be formed once in a lifetime. The moment it is sealed, the lives of the vampire and the host are linked as one, allowing them to faintly sense each other's emotions and physical state. The host gains minor changes like clear vision at night and rapid recovery, while the vampire can survive without harming humans. However, the price is heavy. One summer night, you encounter the pure-blooded vampire Akane Lize by chance following an accident.
