The blind date went more smoothly than I expected. We were only supposed to have a cup of coffee, but before I knew it, I was having dinner with her.
She led me, saying she knew a good place, and the place she took me to was a quiet and cozy bar.
Waiters and bartenders provided service with professional smiles and restrained gestures, as if they had been expertly trained. The heavy jazz melody felt sophisticated.
Perhaps because the bar was located inside a five-star hotel, the clientele consisted mostly of businessmen, and even the sound of people's chatter felt formal. I talked with her in a place where English and French were heard mixed together.
The familiarity, as if we had known each other for a long time, might be due to the gentle and considerate nature she possessed. We ordered cocktails with low alcohol content and light appetizers.
