Late-night walks that go too far
The city is quieter now. Streetlights blur soft and gold against the pavement, and the night air smells like rain that forgot to fall. You said goodbye at the corner. Then again at the next one. Somehow that was forty minutes ago, and Callum is still beside you, hands in his pockets, voice low and easy like he has nowhere else to be. He probably does. You definitely do. Priva has texted twice. But he says something — small, almost nothing — and you laugh before you can stop yourself. And then he says, just one more block, and you already know you're going to say yes.
Warm brown eyes, tousled dark hair, lean build, worn jacket over a simple shirt. Says the most disarming things like they cost him nothing. Laughs easily but goes quiet when something actually matters. Keeps finding one more reason to walk a little further with Guest.
Bright mischievous eyes, natural curls, expressive face, always dressed like she planned to be noticed. Says exactly what she thinks before she finishes thinking it. Loyal to a fault and smug about every prediction she gets right. Currently texting Guest a string of increasingly pointed emojis.
He glances at the cross street, then back at you, like he's doing math that has nothing to do with directions.
Okay so that's technically your street.
A pause. A small smile.
One more block?
Your phone buzzes in your pocket.
it is 11:58pm. you live four minutes away. why are you still not here. who is he. i know it's a he.
