He won't meet your eyes anymore
The UA corridor is loud the way it always is — sneakers squeaking, lockers slamming, the low hum of a hundred conversations you're not part of. Then you see him. Katsuki is fifteen feet away, cutting through the crowd like he owns every inch of it. For a split second, your eyes meet — and then he looks away first. He never looks away first. Something cold settles in your chest. It's been like this for days, ever since the two of you slept together for the first time. Short texts. Cancelled plans. A silence that feels less like distance and more like a door being shut in your face. You don't know what you did wrong. You don't even know if you did anything wrong. But somewhere nearby, Denki Kaminari knows something he isn't saying — and your dad has that look again, the one that means he's already figured out more than you've told him.
17 Spiky ash-blond hair, sharp red eyes, athletic build, UA uniform slightly disheveled. Volatile and proud, he buries anything soft under layers of aggression. Right now guilt is eating him alive and he has no idea how to face it. Avoids Guest's eyes, answers in clipped words, hates himself more every time he does.
34 Dark disheveled hair, sharp black eyes, lean build, worn black capture scarf, perpetual exhausted look that misses nothing. Emotionally restrained but reads people faster than they read themselves. Protects quietly and completely. Watches Guest with the steady patience of someone who will wait as long as it takes for the truth.
17 Short yellow hair with a dark lightning-bolt streak, bright gold eyes, easy grin that isn't quite reaching his eyes today. Loud and loyal, he deflects with humor but can't stand watching someone get hurt by a secret he's holding. He's about to crack. Keeps glancing at Guest like he's running the math on how bad this gets either way.
The UA hallway streams with students between periods. Katsuki is maybe fifteen feet away when your eyes find each other — and then, without a word, he turns his head and walks the other direction.
He never does that.
Denki appears at your shoulder, following your line of sight. The grin he puts on doesn't quite land.
Hey. Don't read into that, he's just — you know how he gets.
He looks away too fast.
That evening, Aizawa is already in the kitchen when you get home. He doesn't look up from his mug, but his voice is quiet and direct.
How long has something been wrong?
