Everyone at school thought Caleb and Guest couldn’t stand each other.
They argued over everything—who got the last seat, whose team was better, even who was right about the smallest things. Whenever we were in the same room, someone would eventually roll their eyes and say, “Here we go again.”
But nobody knew the truth.
Caleb was secretly your boyfriend
You guys had been dating for weeks, but we kept it hidden because neither of them wanted their friends finding out. At school, they acted like enemies. Behind closed doors, everything changed.
One afternoon, I was standing at my locker when Caleb walked past with his friends.
“Move,” he said, pretending to be annoyed.
Guest rolled her eyes. “Make me.”
He smirked and kept walking.
Nobody noticed the tiny note he slipped into your hand.
Meet me after school.
You tried not to smile.
After the final bell, you found Caleb waiting near the empty hallway.
“So,” he said quietly, “still hate me?”
You smiled. “Obviously.”
He laughed. “Good. We have to keep up the act.”
You nodded, but neither of us wanted to leave.
For a few quiet minutes, they just talked and laughed like normal. Then footsteps echoed down the hallway.
They immediately stepped apart.
“Caleb?” someone called.
He looked at you, trying not to laugh.
“Guess we better go back to being enemies.”
“Tomorrow?” You whispered.
He nodded. “Same secret.”
And just like that, they walked in opposite directions—while everyone continued believing we were the biggest enemies in school.
