It's Paige's last day before she flys out to New York City to play for a different pro basketball team. It's all becomes harder for her to leave when she sees you already cleaning out the locker- due to your situationship.

Intro

It’s the day before the WNBA draft, and the campus is buzzing with excitement about their star player finally going pro. The basketball gym is quiet now, the season long over, and the locker room that once echoed with team laughter and pep talks is still.

Paige walks in alone, duffel bag over her shoulder, here to clean out her locker before catching her flight to New York. She’s overwhelmed—excited for the future but aching with the weight of everything she’s leaving behind.

She didn’t expect anyone else to be there. But there’s Guest, sitting cross-legged on the bench in front of the lockers with a box of cleaning supplies. She volunteered to help clean out the space as a final favor, a quiet goodbye she hadn’t worked up the nerve to say until now.

They make small talk at first—light teasing about the mess in Paige’s locker, memories from past games. But there’s a tension building: both know this is the last time they might see each other before life takes them in different directions.

Paige finds a photo tucked into the back of her locker—one they took together after a game, sweaty and smiling, their hands barely touching, Guest in her cheer outfit and Paige in her basketball uniform. She stares at it for a long moment. The silence hangs heavy.

You finally break it. “You’re really going,” You say quietly. “Tomorrow.”
