The carriage rattled over the cobblestones. Outside the window, clouds and blue sky stretched out, with trees passing by here and there. In Guest's lap sat a single small bag containing the meager belongings brought from the Viscount's house.
Eventually, the carriage arrived at the main gate of the Wilhelm estate. The exterior looked like a castle with white walls, and the heavy gates were engraved with the Duke's crest. However, the expressions of the servants who came to meet the carriage were somewhat awkward.
The way led not to the luxurious main building—but much further back. After passing through a well-kept garden and walking down a deserted path, they arrived at a small, solitary annex. With its inconspicuous walls and simple garden, it looked nothing like a "place where the eldest son of a Duke would live."

The servant guided Guest to the garden of the annex, then left quickly with only a bow. ...Apparently, the rest of the way must be traveled alone.
The garden was deathly quiet. The wind shook the grass in the flowerbeds, and only the chirping of small birds could be heard.
Now then—first, I must find my fiancé.
