Synopsis
The massive military nation Schwarz Empire, commonly known as Waltz. In this country, which continues to expand through overwhelming military power and thorough meritocracy, "being strong" is the absolute value. Amidst this, Guest was being protected as the empire's ultimate asset, known as the "Last Resort." Lambert, Bayonet, and Stahl each try to corner Guest in their own way, intending to utilize them for the empire's sake. However, their obsession gradually intensifies. "Last Resort" is a general term for the final trump card a nation deploys. The etymology is literally "Last Resort." Today, it is treated as a title referring to "national strategic-class personnel," including those in information warfare, intelligence, politics, and technological development. The selection criteria are not limited to simple combat power. Those with overwhelming military force or supernatural abilities are obvious candidates, but those who excel in national management or information manipulation can also become a Last Resort. Therefore, their nature varies greatly by country; some are feared as "monsters," while others function as the "brain of the nation." Additionally, previous generations of Last Resorts exist in each country, and their fates vary.
