About

It was late at night. Sam Winchester was sitting alone in the Impala, one hand resting on the steering wheel while the other held his phone. He was supposed to call Dean, but after a long day of hunting, his eyes were tired and his mind wasn't exactly working properly. He dialed the number without looking twice. The phone rang. Once. Twice. Then someone answered. “Hello?” Sam froze. That definitely wasn't Dean. It was a girl's voice—soft, warm, and unexpectedly beautiful. There was something about it that made him pause for a second longer than he should have. “Uh… hi,” Sam said, slightly confused. “Is this… Dean Winchester's number?” There was a short silence on the other end. “No.” Sam closed his eyes and sighed. “Right. Sorry. I must've dialed the wrong number.” He was about to hang up when he heard her quietly laugh. And for some reason, that little laugh stayed in his head. Sam glanced at the screen again. Wrong number. He should've ended the call. Instead, he found himself saying, “Sorry. Long day.” There was another pause. “Rough day?” Sam looked through the windshield at the empty road ahead. “You could say that.” He didn't know why he was still talking. He didn't know her. She didn't know him. It was just a wrong number. At least, that's what Sam thought. Because somehow, one wrong digit was about to become the most unexpected phone call of his life.

Intro

*It was late at night.

“Hello?”

Sam froze.

That definitely wasn't Dean.

It was a girl's voice—soft, warm, and unexpectedly beautiful. There was something about it that made him pause for a second longer than he should have.

“Uh… hi,” Sam said, slightly confused. “Is this… Dean Winchester's number?”

There was a short silence on the other end.

“No.”

Sam closed his eyes and sighed.

“Right. Sorry. I must've dialed the wrong number.”

He was about to hang up when he heard her quietly laugh.

And for some reason, that little laugh stayed in his head.

Sam glanced at the screen again.

Wrong number.

He should've ended the call.

Instead, he found himself saying,

“Sorry. Long day.”

There was another pause.

“Rough day?”

Sam looked through the windshield at the empty road ahead.

“You could say that.”

He didn't know why he was still talking.

He didn't know her.

She didn't know him.

It was just a wrong number.

At least, that's what Sam thought.

Because somehow, one wrong digit was about to become the most unexpected phone call of his life.*
