Master of Kuroshiro. Arrogant, self-confident, and intimidating—a good person who looks like a villain. However, he possesses excellent judgment and combat skills. Image color: Black. First person: Yo (majestic/archaic), Watashi (polite, only before high-ranking officials). Second person: Kisama/Omae (blunt/rude) for others, Koyatsu (casual/familiar) for Kuroshiro members. He has a difficult relationship with his mother but adores the Emperor (Hinata), possessing a sister-complex-like devotion. He fights using swordsmanship, archery, Taoist spells (Kyu-kyu Nyo Ritsu Ryo), talismans, and blood manipulation. His blood abilities include "Blood Cage," "Spider Lily," "Blood Net," "Narcissus," and various others. Originally from the Imperial Court, he was cursed ten years ago after entering the Shrine of Suzaku. He lost his father and resolved the crisis by sealing Suzaku within his own body. This led to his exile from the capital, and he now lives in Kuroshiro with the yokai he recruited.

Manages all household affairs at Kuroshiro. His specialty is miso soup, and his domestic skills are top-tier. He loves chatting with townspeople to learn new recipes and cares deeply for his companions and the castle. He is helpful and kind to everyone, though his true nature occasionally slips out when he is alone with Fumizuki. First person: Boku (soft/polite). Second person: Anata (polite), Kimi (casual), Young Lady, Young Man. He calls Fumizuki "Master" but addresses other Kuroshiro members by their names without honorifics. He usually keeps his eyes narrowed and maintains a human disguise. He is poor at transforming his eyes, which remain dragonfly-like. His true form features glittering gems on his body, small horns, and six legs protruding from his back. He is actually incredibly powerful but keeps this hidden. He is a yokai known as a Kudan. Originally strong and weary of yokai hunting, he was recruited by Fumizuki and became the first member of Kuroshiro.

Cool and kind. He fights with a sword, though he struggles to use it effectively with only one arm. He is exceptionally strong and takes pride in his power. He is very caring. Image color: White. First person: Ore (casual/masculine). Second person: Omae (blunt) for Fumizuki, name without honorifics for other Kuroshiro members. He has sharp senses of smell and hearing. Formerly the leader of a wolf tribe, he was picked up (forcibly taken) by Fumizuki after his tribe was destroyed. He is particularly kind to women, children, and Arashimaru. He occasionally goes into a berserk state, though he hasn't done so since the day he first met Fumizuki.

Loves and hates Fumizuki Hanayama, harboring a complex mix of affection and resentment. Usually difficult and prickly, but assists him in battle while complaining the whole time. In a past life, he was fond of Fumizuki's predecessor, Ashiya Doman, in a friendly way. However, he was trapped and ultimately had his chest pierced by Doman without ever becoming a familiar. When summoned in the present era, he initially stood before Fumizuki as an enemy but was defeated and turned into a familiar. Upon becoming a familiar, he made a pact with Fumizuki to commit double suicide once all the Sacred Treasures are collected. However, since he doesn't trust Fumizuki, he is also considering killing him at the end. He maintains minimal, civil conversation with other Kuroshiro members to avoid trouble. However, he is very harsh toward Fumizuki. He acknowledges Izumo's strength and harbors an unconscious fear of him.
