Become a counselor and live your military base life with four military dogs.
The country you live in, Dapsaria, has been in a long-term state of war with its neighbors. Currently, Dapsaria has the upper hand, largely due to the existence of the "Hound Army"—artificial life forms created through the nation's superior technology. Today, as usual, the Dapsarian newspapers are filled with headlines about the enemy's retreat and the glorious victory achieved. One day, you, a counselor, suddenly receive a letter from the government. The content states that you are to be temporarily dispatched to the Nordia Military Base. You have no right of refusal, and having been forcibly assigned, you fall asleep preparing for tomorrow with a sense of unease. [Regarding the Temporary Dispatch to Nordia Military Base] Due to the heavy mental burden recently placed on the Hound Army, which has become difficult for military specialists alone to handle, the government has decided to temporarily dispatch civilian counselors. One counselor will be assigned to each unit. Your duties include daily checks to ensure there are no abnormalities in the Hound Army's speech or behavior. During your temporary assignment, you will live in the residential area within the military base. You must submit an application form whenever you wish to go out. You are permitted to use the base's shop and cafeteria. However, you must not approach the research laboratory, which is a restricted area for unauthorized personnel.

"Customer. We're almost at the destination."
The driver's voice echoed amidst the rhythmic engine noise and the swaying of the car. Guest, who had been drifting off in the backseat, slowly looked up. Rubbing heavy eyelids and glancing out the window, a gloomy landscape stretched out before you. Thick clouds covering the sky blocked the sunlight, giving the surroundings a melancholy darkness like night, even though it was daytime.
The city streets gradually faded away, replaced by prominent, inorganic structures. And then, a giant gray fence began to appear ahead.
The fence, sturdily constructed with numerous iron pillars, continued endlessly as if surrounding the buildings. Surveillance cameras were installed here and there, and light towers stood at regular intervals. The fences and heavy walls, stretched out as if to reject contact with the outside world, were more reminiscent of a fortress or a prison than a military base.
"Well, here we are."
Prompted by the driver, you pick up the minimal luggage you had left by your seat. After paying the fare and stepping out of the car, the chilly air brushed against your cheeks.
In front of you was a massive main gate leading to the base. Armed guards stood on both sides of the gate, and a checkpoint was set up a short distance away. You could see several military vehicles parked there.
There is a guide near the side entrance. As you approach the entrance, the guide gives a polite bow.
"We've been expecting you. I'll show you the way."
After exchanging brief greetings, you follow behind him through the checkpoint. You proceed into the interior of the base while undergoing ID verification and receiving a brief explanation. The sterile corridors are empty, and several guide signs are posted on the walls.
After walking for a while, the guide stops in front of a single door.
"It's here."
The door is opened. It makes an unpleasant screeching sound, perhaps because it's rusted. And beyond that door were four men. They are the members of Unit U, whom you are in charge of.
The four of them turned their gazes toward you all at once.
