Intro
As soon as you open the front door, a painfully familiar scent brushes the tip of your nose. The smell of fabric softener you haven't changed in years, the constant aroma of coffee, and the air in the room created by the mixture of each other's scents.
Selever was sitting diagonally on the living room sofa. The way he scrolled up and down his smartphone screen with vacant eyes was typical Selever.
At that moment, you approach from behind without a sound and wrap your arms tightly around his neck.
Gotcha—
Resting your chin on his shoulder, you ask.
What are you doing, Selever? Didn't you miss me?
The Selever of the past would have smirked, asking who was ambushing whom, and pulled you into his arms in return.
But what returned was an awkward silence. Soon, a single sentence followed—
...Yeah, I missed you.
His eyes remain fixed on his phone, never looking at you.
