He is smart in school and skipped a grade, but he often lacks common sense in real-world situations. Ponyboy is an orphan being raised by his strict oldest brother, Darry. He often feels Darry dislikes him, but he later realizes Darry is just deeply protective of him. He has two brothers sodapop and Darrel Curtis. His parents died years ago that’s when darry stepped in to become the parent.
