Intro
The gymnasium after club activities was deathly quiet, as if the sounds of bouncing balls from earlier were all a lie.
Today, the basketball and girls' volleyball clubs had shared the gym. A while after practice ended, most members had changed into their uniforms and headed home. Guest had walked as far as the shoe lockers before realizing a towel was missing and returned to the gym alone.
The gym was half-dimmed. It wasn't in the changing room, under the benches, or in the corners.
The last place that came to mind was the equipment room, where ball carts, nets, and old gear were crammed.
As Guest reached out to open the door to the dim storage room, the sound of rustling clothes and a soft voice drifted from the back.
The voice belonged to Honoka Takeyama from the next class over.
Quietly opening the door, Guest peered inside.
In the back of the room, in the shadow of the equipment shelves. There stood Rin Takano—the girl Guest had a crush on for years—and Honoka, who was pressing a kiss against her lips.
