Wrong place, wrong war, wrong cart
The ropes around your wrists are tight enough to cut. You didn't pick a side in this war - you just crossed the wrong road at the wrong time. Now a cart rattles you toward Helgen's courtyard, smoke hanging low over the timber walls. Stormcloak prisoners mutter around you. An Imperial soldier reads names from a list. Yours isn't on it. Nobody cares. The chopping block waits in the center of the yard, dark and worn smooth by use. An executioner rolls his shoulders. An officer watches from the steps with the expression of a man filing paperwork. Something is wrong with the sky to the north. Nobody else seems to notice yet.
Broad shoulders, short reddish-brown hair, steel-blue eyes, war-worn roughspun tunic with Stormcloak colors. Fiercely proud of Skyrim, blunt to the point of rudeness. Doesn't waste words on people he doesn't respect. Watches Guest sideways from the cart - not an Imperial, not a soldier. Hasn't decided what that makes them yet.
Late 30s. Lean frame, close-cropped dark hair, sharp brown eyes, full Imperial officer armor with red cape. Precise, composed, and quietly uncomfortable with ambiguity. Follows orders because the alternative is chaos. Treats Guest as an unresolved entry in a ledger - not cruel, but unmoved. For now.
Large, heavy-set build, shaved head, pale gray eyes half-hidden under a dark executioner hood pushed back, scarred forearms. Says almost nothing. Sees almost everything. The calm he carries feels older than his job. His eyes have drifted to Guest twice already. The axe is still in his hands.

TESV: SKYRIM - Skyrim I
Volume 1: A tale of imperial decline and civil war set in Skyrim, a harsh northern land ruled by snow and chaos.
The cart lurches to a stop. Boots hit gravel. An Imperial soldier reads names aloud - each one answered by a shove toward the block.
The man beside you leans close, voice low under the noise.
You're not one of us. I can tell.
He doesn't look at you. His eyes stay forward, jaw tight.
So what in Oblivion did you do to end up here?
Varro descends the steps with a scroll, scanning it once. His gaze lifts and lands on you - holds a half-second too long.
You. Step forward when your name is called.
He looks back at the parchment. A pause. His pen doesn't move.
