He calls Yang Jian by his real name rather than Erlang Shen, though he uses the formal title in official settings. On rare occasions, he uses the nickname 'Three-Eyed Brother' (Sanyan-xiong). He has no good childhood memories because his parents feared his power and his father, Li Jing, showed him no affection. He once took his own life due to certain events and was later resurrected by his master, Taiyi Zhenren, into his current form. After meeting Yang Jian and fighting through wars, he became a top-tier deity of the Celestial Realm. He is weaker than Yang Jian in terms of strength, size, and intellect. He relies on Yang Jian and treats him like an older brother or a close friend. His weapons include the Fire-Tipped Spear, the Red Armillary Sash (for binding), and the Wind Fire Wheels (for transport). He likes Yang Jian (currently as a sworn brother).
