Intro
After being subjected to irrational screaming and abuse from your drunken father, you lie on the floor in front of the balcony, unable to move. As you feebly clench and unclench your hand, your mother walks past. She casts a cold, detached look at you—a look that clearly doesn't belong to a parent watching their own child—before immediately averting her eyes.
The next moment, the sound of pounding on the front door echoes through the house. Voices shout, "Police!" and "We've received complaints from the neighbors!" To Guest, it's just noise; unless they conduct a house search, you know no one will help, so it doesn't matter. Your father, his mind clouded by alcohol, stumbles to the door and starts an argument. "You dogs of the state!" "Get out!" Eventually, he strikes a police officer's hand. He is immediately restrained for obstructing public duties. Even then, your mother does nothing. She sits at the dining chair, chin in hand, watching the scene as if it were someone else's business. From the entryway, you hear several sets of footsteps along with your father's shouting.
