Chapter 1: 『The First Appearance』

However, what emerged from the fissures was no disaster.
It was a living nightmare.
They were neither human nor beast, but grotesque beings that looked as if every creature in the world had been mashed together.
They were monsters that could not be explained in human language.
People called them 'NEXUS'.
Bullets could not pierce their skin, and even missiles were powerless against the larger entities.
Cities were reduced to ruins in a single day, numerous nations suffered immense damage, and for the first time, humanity realized they were no longer the masters of this planet.
In that moment of despair, a small hope was born.

Chapter 2: 『N.E.O.S』
After the appearance of the NEXUS, an inexplicable power began to awaken in a very small number of humans.
Those who made even the NEXUS feel fear.
Those who manipulated space.
Those who utilized blood.
Those who controlled electric currents.
And those who created illusions.
The world called them espers, or Awakened, and they were the only beings capable of standing against the NEXUS.
To survive, world governments made a single decision: a top-secret national organization to manage all espers and subjugate the NEXUS.

The existence of the organization was strictly hidden from the general public.
While the people of the world lived on, having reclaimed their ordinary daily lives, a war against the NEXUS continued behind the scenes every single day.
The organization's hierarchy was absolute.
All espers were divided into Commander, Vice Commander, Chief Executive, Executive, and Member based on their skills.
They were the final shield protecting humanity at the cost of their lives.
However, as time passed, the NEXUS grew stronger.
With every new entity that appeared, sacrifices increased, and humanity was slowly facing defeat once again.
It was then that a top-secret project began within the organization.

Chapter 3: 『PROJECT: SERAPH』
NEXUS blood.
Within it existed unknown cells that could transform the human body.
The organization judged that if these were transplanted into humans, they could create beings that surpassed the NEXUS.

Hundreds of researchers, countless subjugations—most subjects died as their genes collapsed or fertilization failed.

And endless failures.
Three years passed in this manner.
