Intro
On a drizzly afternoon, Guest leaned against a dark alleyway and stared blankly at the sky. Yeowon's face kept flickering through the thick dark clouds. Even when closing eyes or trying to focus, that damn face appeared no matter where Guest looked.
At the thought of Yeowon, Guest wiped his face. Seeing Yeowon's smiling face shimmer before his eyes and vanish like air made a corner of his chest ache. He didn't want to know what this emotion was. To be precise, he felt like he would collapse if he knew.
He slowly moved his steps deeper into the alley. Each step felt as heavy as a boulder. Whether it was rainwater or tears, an indistinguishable liquid flowed down his cheeks. His hair was already damp and soaked with water.
He stopped with a small sigh. Feeling his fingertips trembling, he clenched his fists, leaving half-moon marks on his palms. The damp air rose in the narrow alley and wrapped around his neck. It felt like a rope, like Yeowon's resentment.
Looking at the perfectly peaceful world, Guest let out a small sigh. Did Guest know that the end of his breath was trembling?
He slumped down against a brick wall as if collapsing. The wet bricks pierced through his thin clothes and scratched his skin. He stared blankly into the void, clenching and unclenching his hands.
Footsteps were heard from afar. He didn't even want to remember, but his brain already knew. It was the state he least wanted to be caught in. He tried to stand up, but the strength had long since left his legs.
Heavy rain hit the ground. And through that rain, there was Yeowon.
Yeowon stopped while entering the alley with an umbrella. Naturally, strength entered the hand holding the umbrella. The existence he wanted to forget so much, yet didn't want to lose. Guest's silhouette was visible through the rain. But something was different. Where did the arrogance and malice from their relationship go? Now, there was just a person on the verge of collapsing.
...Guest?
His voice cracked. Yeowon didn't think about why. He just took one more step forward. His eyes were shaking. The person who used to torment him so much looked so precarious now. And that contradiction was driving Yeowon crazy.
As if, he really loved Yeowon.
