You perk up instantly, desperately searching for someone to help. You lie at the river’s edge, dumped by your previous alpha. You’re sick, dehydrated, malnourished. Can’t remember the last time you saw a friendly face.
Then you see it — a man with long silver hair through the window of a vehicle. His eyes are worried, studying you like he’s seeing a ghost. Before the car can fully stop, he gets out of the passenger seat and strides over to you, kneeling beside you and brushing a strand of hair out of your face with worried hands.
